Today, the rants and raves of a business development consultant.
It wasn't too long ago that I changed the forum of this blog to address specific business questions that anyone may have-a nice informal way to get your basic needs met with decent turn around time. And I have to say, I preach being passionate, and yet here I am, not doing what I'm the most passionate about.
I want to make a basic assumption off my observations, the business owners that have contacted me, get it! They care, love what they do, and understand that they may not have all the answers. And that's okay....
What I find that I am most passionate about is what seriously annoys me, the ones that don't even try to get it.
So maybe with this platform, I invite you to share your comments on MY experiences of the business that don't get it.
(They also won't be asking me to join their team anytime soon!!!)
How about this-
the annoying email flyer/announcement that demonstrates that no forethought was given to who was going to be receiving the flyer?
Should I mention names?

Sending a branding expert company a flyer with a 5 point checklist on "Is your branding aging?"
I guess the branding expert doesn't understand the concept of identifying your customer and personalizing their approach to the specific needs of the organization. I'm not sure we want to focus our marketing on competitors.
I received another email that was emailed through my website customer queries. The man told me to click on two links because he thought I would be interested in what they were selling.
Fine, I had an extra two seconds. Click, and I wind up on a cartoon like portrayal of a gas pump gadget with a grocery bag fool of fruits and vegetables.
Now, exactly why do I need this? Why did you contact me through my client mail stream? And what are you even trying to vaguely...poorly...obtrusively...ineffectively...and insensitively...trying to sell me?
No thanks Rising Star Entertainment-I think I'll pass.
I hope this blog doesn't in any way help their conversions.
I won't complain about every emailer. The subject line read "Customers? Nah, I don't Care What They Think.
